Google acquired microLED startup to create new AR glasses and MR Tech

Google is acquiring Raxium, a company focused on developing microLED displays for AR and VR applications. The official cost of the acquisition has not yet been announced, however, it is estimated to be around $1 billion.

Raxium was founded in 2017 and has yet to publicly release a commercial product, according to The Information.

The acquisition is a sign that Google’s seriously focused on developing the components needed to bring AR devices to life
